Why Should You Buy Rode NT USB+? Checkout This Review

The Rode NT USB is a reliable, excellent-sounding unidirectional microphone. However, it needs to be updated since it was first introduced in 2014. Come on in, Rode NT-USB+.

The NT-USB+ keeps the NT-reliable USB’s professional exterior while introducing improved circuitry, Rode’s Evolution Power amplifier technology, and a built-in DSP. The NT USB desktop mic includes a headphone connector for direct, zero-latency monitoring and tripod support. It’s a strong candidate for our list of top gaming microphones because it has one of the better-quality USB microphones.

Price and Availability

A large number of retailers offer the Rode NT USB Mini. Currently, the NT-USB+ costs $169, and you can easily purchase it on Amazon.com.

Design of Rode NT USB+

The NT-USB+ and the original NT-USB have nearly identical designs. Rode’s logo is neatly imprinted on the front of the NT-sturdy USB+’s black metal body in bright silver. The greatest visual distinction between Rode NT USB+, and the NT-USB is the blue mesh inner pop filter hidden beneath the mic’s black metal mesh grille.

A 3.5mm strong headphone outcome for zero-latency monitoring is located on the right side of the microphone, along with two dials that regulate the mix and earphone volume level.

A 9.8-foot USB-C Charging cable is included with the Rode NT USB mic and connected to the connector on the bottom of the microphone. Along with a black tripod support, it also includes a pop shield and a removable spherical metal panel with a plastic frame that stands about an inch in front of the microphone.

The stand is made of plastic. If you’re not careful, it can topple over. Once balanced, it performs a respectable job of holding the microphone up. It also does little to reduce desktop noise due to a lack of weight or padding. This is still better than other desktop stands. The microphone has a removable ring attachment that is simple to attach to a boom arm.

Performance

For Rode Nt USB review, we will tell you that for direct, zero-latency monitoring, the NT-USB+ is powered by USB-C and equipped with a headphone jack. Despite lacking an on-mic volume control or mute button/switch, the mic functions effectively as a plug-and-play device.

Rich, accurate vocals with a strong bottom end and barely any self-noise are produced by the NT-USB+. It is equipped with Rode’s ultra-low-noise, elevated Evolution Power amplifier technology, enabling it to capture louder, smoother, and crisper audio with a lower noise floor.

This NT-USB+ Provides a Variety of Features and Software

The NT-USB+ features an integrated DSP that enables extensive sound compression, which can be triggered via several Rode programs, including Rode Central, Rode Connect, and the recently announced Rode X Unify software. Despite this, the NT-USB+ is primarily plug-and-play.

Currently, unlike the new Rode NT USB microphone from the company, the processor, noise barrier, high pass filter, and Aphex improvements can be released but not altered or otherwise customized.

Final Verdict

The Rode NT USB+ is a solid internal upgrade to the NT-USB, adding Rode’s Evolution Preamp technology, an efficient internal DSP, and USB-C connectivity to a remarkable USB compact microphone. If you’re looking for a microphone that will make you sound terrific, go no further than the NT-USB+, which maintains its predecessor’s strong, durable build and offers lovely, clear audio with a reduced noise floor.
