Asus Zenbook 17 Fold Review: Here Comes the Future, But it’s too Expensive

The most cutting-edge laptop we’ve used so far this year is the Asus ZenBook 17 Fold. This 17.3-inch OLED display has a hinge in the center that enables you to fold it in half like a book. The laptop contains two 12.5-inch OLED touchscreens.

We’ll just say it’s a fantastic showcase for Windows 11 and its enhanced multitasking features. Asus includes ScreenXpert software, which makes it simple to arrange your work across the ZenBook 17 Fold‘s display. These capabilities render the idea of working on a computer with a folding screen downright tenable.

Asus Zenbook 17 Fold Oled Price

In the fourth quarter of 2022, the Asus ZenBook 17 Fold OLED is anticipated to go on sale for $3,499. With each ZenBook 17 Fold OLED, Asus provides an ErgoSense Bluetooth keyboard and carrying case, which is a good thing because paying extra for a keyboard with a $3,500 laptop feels like a bridge too far.

Design of Asus Foldable Laptop

The Asus ZenBook 17 Fold OLED stands out due to its unique design. Try using it in at least four or five positions to see what works best. Ranging from folding it like a typical laptop and setting the integrated ErgoSense Bluetooth keyboard on top of the bottom half to opening it up like a giant book, the entire 17.3-inch display is stretched out in front of you while the keyboard is on the desk.

Fortunately, the hinge on the laptop is sturdy enough to hold it firmly in place when you arrange it vertically like a sheet of paper. It’s the most adaptable laptop we’ve ever used, drawing attention when we use it in public.

Asus Zenbook 17 Fold Display

Given that it occupies an entire side of the Asus Zenbook 17 Fold OLED, the display is the device’s most pronounced feature. Fortunately, it appears well in person. It’s lovely and bright, with what appear to be accurate colors and pleasing contrasts between light and dark. The fact that you can use it as a sizable touchscreen that is snappy and highly usable feels like the cherry on top: despite it is susceptible to fingerprints and smearing. The 17-inch OLED display on the Fold isn’t as dazzling as it could be.

Should You Buy Asus Touch Screen Foldable Laptop?

We have used the ZenBook 17 Fold for work, and it has no trouble with routine daily chores. We could regularly work for long periods.

When we attempted to relax and play some games on the ZenBook, even though we knew it wouldn’t be able to perform the most demanding games without a discrete GPU, many of the top PC titles function flawlessly without one. Unfortunately, the ZenBook 17 Fold had trouble running nearly all of the PC games we tried to play on it.

Conclusion

However, the Asus ZenBook 17 Fold OLED is the finest we’ve tried if you are sure you want a foldable laptop. Although, indeed, we’ve only tested one model so far, foldable laptops are just now starting to enter the market as a whole.
