Honor has been in the earphones business since 2018, making entry-level and mid-level earphones to become an important player in the segment. The company that people primarily knew as a smartphone maker gradually entered other areas like laptops and earphones. The Honor earbuds 3 pro helps the company to improve its own standard to create impressive earbuds that can make people compare it with Apple Airpods Pro. Yes, the design of the earbuds is so much similar to Airpads Pro that comparison is inevitable. However, the similarity ends with the design only. Any Honor earbuds 3 pro review highlights the worthiness of the true wireless earbuds with plenty of features that produce great sound and effective ANC (active noise cancellation).
Honor Earbuds 3 Pro Design
Despite having similarity in design with the Airpads Pro, the Honor earbuds 3 pro price at $178 is undoubtedly slightly less than the inspirational brand. Obviously, it raises the expectations of users, and the Honor professional earbuds do full justice to it. It’s an example of the practicality of the design. The stem of the earbuds is short so that it does not come in the way of the face mask that you might have to wear. A set of three microphones placed strategically not only captures outside noises but cancels these, too. The earbuds are highly comfortable to wear and come with three sets of rubber tips to ensure the perfect fit and prevent direct contact of the plastic body with the ear cartilage. The ultra-light earbuds impress with their impeccable fit, encouraging wearing the exclusive Android earbuds for long periods.
The latest Honor earbuds presumably have an IP54 rating, as claimed by the company during launch, which makes them water and dust resistant like the Airpads Pro. However, there’s no mention of it on the Honor website. However, the earbuds remain vulnerable to water exposure through the three microphones in each earbud. The small glossy plastic case looks like a small lozenge, and you can leave the lid open but leaning slightly at the back, supported by the strong hinge. Each earbud has an AI temperature reader and a proximity meter, and the touch controls on the stem remind you of the design similarity with other earpads.
The professional earbuds have 11mm coaxial dual driver speakers, a microphone trio on each earbud, and a 42mAh battery that supports fast charging. For the earbuds only, on a single charge, the battery lasts 4 hours with ANC on and 6 hours with ANC off. And if you consider earbuds with the case, then it lasts for 16 hours and 24 hours respectively in the ANC on and ANC off modes. Five minutes of fast charging ensures 2 hours of combined playback time. The earbuds have Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity and a USB-C port for charging.
The Honor earbuds 3 pro is an outright winner in sound quality that keeps the highs and mids in check without any overpowering bassline. It provides a much wider soundstage and although the ANC is satisfactory but could have been better.
