Kratos and Atreus, the two characters that stand tall among the God of War Ragnarok characters, started their journey in 2018 in God of War, which many consider the best PS4 game to date. After four years, it’s high time to release a new game version named God of War Ragnarok. Expectations about the sequel’s impending release have been growing over the years, and there are enough hints now about the God of War Ragnarok release date in November 2022. Amid rumors of a September release floating on Twitter, we have to wait to see if the prediction about the November release is right. But going by the declaration on the page on the official PlayStation website, the mythical action-adventure game should release within the year.
God of War Ragnarok – The Storyline
The God of War Ragnarok trailer released in September 2021 gave us some clues about the storyline. Remember that the God of War Ragnarok characters remains unchanged from those seen in the inaugural version of the series. During the intervening four years since God of War’s release, we would see a grownup and more confidence Atreus demonstrating the wonders of the giant genes within him. The father and son duo must face Ragnarok, their adversary, the Norse version of an apocalypse, and the enemies they made in God of War. Besides the know the enemy Freya, there would be new ones like Thor as Kratos has to deal with his son Atreus’ rebel streak and his knowledge of the real identity of Atreus. The story of the God of War Ragnarok on PS4 would encompass nine realms instead of the six seen in God of War. The new realms include Asgard, Svartalfheim, and Vanaheim, along with the existing six.
Inclusion of New Characters
A close look at the God of War Ragnarok trailer makes it clear that some new characters are in the game’s latest version. Angrboda is a new character that you will see in the new game. As explained by Sony Santa Monica, it is one of the remaining giants. And at the end, there is the big guy Tyr, a newcomer who is Odin’s son and Thor and Baldur’s half-brother. He wants to settle scores with his father, who imprisoned him.
A Cryptic Trailer
The compact and cryptic God of War Ragnarok trailer leaves a lot to the imagination. In the absence of footage of the game barring a Norse symbol and the confirmation about Ragnarok coming soon, the trailer aims to arouse curiosity and interest in the game by revealing as little as it can about the story unfolding.
Danielle Bisutti, who plays Freya, leads the God of War Ragnarok cast, with Ryan Hurst as Thor and Richard Schiff as Odin. The supporting actors in the God of War Ragnarok are Laya Hayes as Angrboda, Ben Prendergast as Tyr, Alastair Duncan as Mimir, Adam Harrington as Sindri, Robert Craighead as Brok, and Usman Ally as Durlin.
