Obi Wan Kenobi – A Television Miniseries That Makes Star Wars Fans Rejoice

An offspring of Disney’s Star Wars franchise, the television miniseries Obi-Wan Kenobi draws inspiration from the Obi-Wan Kenobi movie directed by Stephen Daldry and written by Hossein Amini. The Obi Wan Kenobi series is a heady mix of adventure, action, and science fiction that makes Star Wars fans jump in the air while rejoicing. The 6-part miniseries aims to bridge the gap between the third and fourth episodes. Directed by Deborah Chow, the series begins 10 years after the dramatic events of Obi Wan Kenobi’s greatest defeat in ‘Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith.’ The loss manifested in the form of the corruption and downfall of his best friend Anakin Skywalker, also a Jedi apprentice who turned to the dark side and transformed himself into Darth Vader, the evil Sith Lord.

Obi-Wan Kenobi – A Mysterious Casting

Although the Obi Wan Kenobi cast seems unassuming at a glance, there’s a lot of drama underneath that will show up as you can see in-depth every character played by the artists. The cast is headed by Ewan McGregor, who plays the protagonist. It includes Hayden Christensen, Joel Edgerton, Moses Ingram, Bonnie Piesse, Rupert Friend, Indira Verma Sung Kang, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Benny Safdie, and Simone Kessel. Interestingly, the world knows that Hayden Christensen plays the role of Darth Vader, and it’s the point from where the mystery surrounding the cast begins.

Who Plays Darth Vader?

After viewing five episodes (Obi Wan Kenobi release date was May 27), fans wonder about the reason for bringing Christensen back for the series. Despite crediting Christensen for portraying the evil Darth Vader, who remains covered in the signature black armor, head to toe, three actors play the role during various phases of the series. During the fight scenes, stuntman Tom O’Connell is the man fighting it out. During the wide shots, the massively built 6ft 7 inches Dmitrious Bistrevsky essays the role, and during the more intimate sequences, Christensen is the man behind the mask. The legendary James Earl Jones lends his voice to Darth Vader, as mentioned in the credit details but assisted by the Respeecher. This technology helps to recreate the voice precisely the way the director wants.

Remember that we had seen Christensen in flesh and blood but covered in scarred prosthetics at the end of Part II and even in Part III.

Number of Episodes

Obi-Wan Kenobi number of episodes is only 6 because it’s a miniseries. Five episodes were streamed about a week ago, and the first streaming took place on May 27 at 3.00 am EST. It’s been a norm for Disney to release the shows on Fridays and the miniseries follow the trend. Only one episode is pending streaming and is slated for June 22 at 3.00 am EST. The first and second episodes were streamed on the first day, while June 1, 8, and 15 were the other dates.

The series is about Obi Wan Kenobi embarking on a crucial mission to face his friend turned foe, only to face the wrath of the Empire.
