Deezer Premium Review – A Must Buy Subscription If You Are an Audiophile

What is Deezer?

Deezer has been around for quite some time, but if you have not taken a look at this music streaming platform, it is worth checking out in 2022.

The music streaming service has shown remarkable development over the years as Deezer embraced the high-quality music streams and spatial audio formats. This has made Deezer compete well with the most famous music platform Spotify.

Deezer Review -Music Catalogue

The Deezer platform has a massive catalog of 73 million-plus songs. It is doubtful that one will miss out on any favorite artists. Like Spotify, the platform consists of music mixed with a personalized and curated playlist. Playlists are organized as per mood and music genre, along with chart-based roundups. Also, one listening habit will be picked up by algorithms to generate a playlist as per the listens to taste.

Though Deezer playlists are not as good as Tidal or Spotify, it is still pretty good. The platform flow technology is pretty innovative that allows one to listen to unlimited personalized tracks with just a simple click.

User Interface

The interface is simple, sterile, and not entirely intuitive as Apple Music or Spotify. The tiled art album on a plain background looks pale compared to competitors though many users like the simplicity. Users’ favorite artists, daily mixes based on listening habits, chart playlists, and recommended radio stations are available on the desktop app.

A sidebar on the screen’s left allows toggling between podcast and radio shows, Music, favorites, and explore, which will enable one to navigate podcasts and music’s by genre and category. The Deezer music app on the mobile is similar and minimalistic.

What is Deezer App?

One can download the app on iOS and Android devices and Windows 10 tablets and mobiles.

Audio Quality

The audio quality varies according to the subscription plans. A free plan will offer MP3 files at 128kbps, while the premium subscription will offer 320 kbps, matching Spotify’s premium service. The Deezer HiFi allows streaming songs in CD quality at 1411 kbps with 16-bit and 44.1 kHz FLAC files. As per Deezer’s claims, 70 million tracks are in CD quality which means nearly the entire catalog is in CD quality.

The audio quality may not be discernible to ordinary ears, but audiophiles and those using high-quality Headphones will appreciate the difference.

Subscription Plans

The subscription plans are well priced, which means there is streaming for everyone in the family, including audiophiles. The Deezer free premium plan comes with a free three-month trial period that allows one to dig deep into the platform before committing.

The cheapest plan is Deezer premium at $9.99 per month and provides listener ads-free, unlimited skips, and offline mode access. For family subscriptions that allow six individual accounts and up to 13 devices with an optional kid profile, the plan costs $14.99 per month.

Deezer HiFi or Deezer Premium+ costs $14.99 per month for a single user and provides access to CD quality music and Sony 360 Reality Audio format. If one signs up for an annual subscription, there is a discount of 25% on the bill.

Deezer is an excellent alternative to Spotify with its robust platform, simple interface, decent music curation, and fantastic music catalog.
