The narcos cast features Wagner Moura, Pedro Pascal, Boyd Holbrook, Maurice Compte, Andr Mattos, Joanna Christie, and André Mattos.

Plot Summary

Carlo Benard, Chris Brancato, and Doug Miro co-created Narcos’s Netflix original series. The first season debuted in 2015 and quickly became one of the most popular shows on Netflix, receiving two Golden Globe nominations. The first two seasons focused on Escobar, who became a cocaine kingpin and had several encounters with drug lords, the DEA, and competitors. The third season follows the DEA’s efforts to bring down the Cali Cartel, which split away from Pablo Escobar in the late 1980s to run its operation.

Narcos All Seasons Review

Narcos series was always a one-dimensional drama about the emergence of legendary drug lord Pablo Escobar and the years-long struggle to bring him down. Narcos accomplished this in two brutal, gripping seasons. After chronicling Escobar’s dramatic ten-year ascent and rule in Season One, Season Two began chronicling his last days. After telling its version of Escobar’s narrative, the third season focuses on the cartel that rose to fill the void left by Escobar’s murder. As well as the combined Colombian-DEA battle to dismantle it.

The show is on the side of Javier and his quest for justice, indeed. It’s also well-written, and it’s been nominated for a few Emmy awards. But that’s not where its appeal lies. Instead, it takes viewers deep behind the cartel walls and into the inner workings of a successful, glamorous illicit empire filled with drugs, sex, and murder.

Netflix is well aware of its audience’s preferences, and as a result, it provides us with plenty of visual candy. Unfettered by broadcast or even basic cable restraints, the streaming service supplies its fans with a steady stream of violence, sex, and ludicrous displays of ill-gotten wealth. On satin-covered mattresses, women and men undress and writhe. Those characters who fell out of favor with the cartel were tortured or assassinated, often in gruesome ways.

Wagner Moura’s performance as Pablo Escobar was so good that he was missed in Season Three. Overall, the narrative and narration in the series were excellent. The complexities of the narcotics industry and the mystery of the investigation will undoubtedly captivate viewers.

Conclusion

Narcos show tells us that it’s “inspired” by true events, and the bad guys here are real historical figures. It lacks likable characters, yet it attracts viewers with strong acting and a fast-paced plotline that distracts from the plot’s typical pattern. In what continues to be a brilliant portrayal of Pablo Escobar’s life, it manages to raise the stakes to a gut-wrenching degree. Using historical details, the show takes viewers on a fascinating (and disturbingly relevant) trip into darkness.
