An Overview Of HP’s Pavilion Aero 13

For under $1,000, HP’s Pavilion Aero 13 is an excellent all-around ultraportable laptop. The HP Pavilion Aero 13 is a fantastic value thanks to a powerful AMD Ryzen 7 processor, a bright, colorful display, a clicky keyboard, a super light chassis, and all of this for a great price. Although the keyboard deck is small and the microSD card slot is not present, some customers won’t like them.

The HP Pavilion Aero 13 has a few cons, but you can easily get over them when you think about how great it is. Here are some of the best reasons to buy this laptop.

  • The display is bright and colorful
  • Excellent keyboard
  • Attractive price
  • Performance is excellent

  • Small deck
  • lacking MicroSD card slot

Design And Display

Design And Display Hp

Although the HP Pavilion Aero 13 seems sleek and slim, how it feels is far more important. 2.2 pounds makes this beauty feel like paperweight in our hands. HP’s glossy logo, which is inset in the aluminum hood, goes perfectly with the minimalistic design.

The keyboard deck is neat and compact, with a smooth glass touchpad and fingerprint reader on the bottom. During this time, the display bezels greeted us with their so thin curves. HP Pavilion Aero 13’s weight alone makes it superior to its competition. It weighs 2.2 pounds and measures 11.7 x 8.2 x 0.7 inches.

The 13.3-inch screen of the HP Pavilion Aero 13 is spectacularly bright and colorful for a laptop at this price point. We measured the Aero 13’s color gamut, and it nailed 119.5% of it, which means it has a higher color depth than the average model.

Hp laptop ports side view

In spite of its light design, the HP Pavilion Aero 13 has surprisingly many ports. The left side of the device has one drop-jaw USB Type-A port, one USB Type-C port, and a headphone jack. The right side has the power jack and another drop-jaw USB Type-A port. A microSD card slot, though, would have been useful.

Keyboard And Touchpad

Because of its small deck, the Aero 13 may take some time to get used to, but it’s still one of our favorite keyboards. You only have to overcome the deck’s small size. Despite that, the keys are well-spaced, clicky, and punchy. The 13-inch laptop feel won’t be too different if you are familiar with it. The touchpad isn’t the biggest, but it’s one of the smoothest, letting the fingers glide across it smoothly. In addition, it makes you feel authoritative when you select something with deep clicks.

Audio And Graphics

It comes with an app that lets you adjust the sound quality, but it does so in a way that doesn’t drastically change the quality of the audio. The speakers struggled to cope with the lack of bass, but the percussion leaned heavily into the treble.

In spite of its AMD Radeon integrated graphics chip, there’s still plenty of room for gaming on the HP Pavilion Aero 13. The Aero 13 is actually capable of more gaming than many ultralight ultraportable.

There are tons of software from HP built into the system, such as HP Support Assistant, which helps you manage your warranty, storage, battery, and security settings. You can also connect to your printer with HP Smart, use HP Privacy Settings to limit what information HP has access to, and share files and photos wirelessly with HP Quick Drop.

Battery Life And Webcam

On our battery test, in which the HP Pavilion Aero 13 is continuously browsing the web over Wi-Fi with the screen set to a brightness of 150 nits, it lasted a whopping 10 hours and 27 minutes.

720p webcams in laptops are not typically great, but the one in the Aero 13 isn’t all that impressive.

The Verdict

The HP Pavilion Aero 13 is ideal for those who place portability above all other considerations and those who are looking for good performance and a nice display. The only downside is that it does not come with a microSD card slot, and the deck is a bit small. HP Pavilion Aero 13 is an excellent and affordable laptop.
