A computer all in one is the perfect choice for anyone looking for a device they can use right away. Combining a monitor with a PC is convenient and eliminates the need for cables to run all over your workspace. The MSI Modern AM271P M1 is an all-in-one designed to use your space while offering a solid workstation efficiently.
The AM271P could be mistaken for a desktop PC, despite the fact it is not one. Due to its powerful Intel i7 mobile CPU and 16GB of RAM, it is very fast. You will have plenty of screen space to work with on the 27-inch display, making it highly productive. However, you can play older, less demanding games without a problem even though this computer is not powerful enough for graphically intensive games. Our review of the MSI Modern AM271P 11M concludes that it is an affordable and reliable all-in-one.
- 27-inch stunning screen
- User-friendly interface
- The sound quality is disappointing
- Modern games are difficult
As far as looks go, it looks like a standard monitor. You get more screen space by having thin bezels on display, and it doesn’t occupy much desk space despite the relatively large screen size.
Due to the lightweight of the all-in-one, attaching it to the stand is easy. You can tilt and height the computer to your preference when you’re done. As long as the monitor stays locked in its position, there will be no danger of it slipping. This design has nothing exquisite, but it is not garish either. With the AM271, large all-in-ones are nothing like they used to be.
Display And Audio
Web browsing, watching videos, and playing games are a breeze on the 27-inch Full HD display. Having a large display allowed us to place windows wherever we wanted them while working. It got as bright as 113 nits at the center of the screen in the default user mode. Switching to the Designer mode may produce brighter results, as this mode increases the average brightness to 124.8 nits with a peak brightness of 142 nits at the center of the display.
There was nothing impressive about the pair of 2.5W speakers as far as audio quality is concerned. In general, we suggest using headphones whenever you watch or listen to content and during video calls.
Ports, Keyboard & Mouse
There are a wide variety of ports on the AM271. The device also has two USB Type-C ports, five USB Type-A ports of varying generations, a headphone jack, an Ethernet port, and two HDMI ports. To configure display settings, you can enter the menu using a small joystick MSI calls a 5-way Navigator.
It was an excellent decision to include HDMI in and HDMI out ports. If the display ever fails on the AM271, you can use an external display and keep using the computer. If you’re working on a laptop and need a bigger screen, you can plug into the MSI and use that 27-inch screen as an external display.
An MSI keyboard and mouse were included with the AM271 we reviewed. However, we only found them to be okay. We didn’t have any problems with these devices, though they weren’t top-notch. If you are unhappy with the included peripherals, it is possible to pair your equipment to the computer via Bluetooth or USB ports.
In addition to our review unit, we received a Full HD 1080p camera. The camera does not exactly make a great first impression in these low lighting conditions, and colors are muted, but the image is not blurred or distorted. Despite its shortcomings, the camera is adequate for conference calls. Using your USB camera is as easy as using a mouse and keyboard.
Since all-in-ones do not have a large surface area to place their components, all their components have to be squeezed into the display. The MSI Modern AM27P 11M might not be as powerful as a desktop or even an all-in-one like the iMac, but it’s worth considering because you get a lot of value for your money. This computer easily handles our everyday work tasks.
