A Review On The Lenovo Yoga Tab 11

It’s hard to imagine daily life without tablets, which are somewhere between a smartphone and a laptop, sized comfortably for everyday use and with ample power, too. A small and lightweight Android tablet, the Lenovo Yoga Tab 11 is ideal for families with young children. While it does not impress with immaculate specs, it is a reliable slate designed to entertain you, yet it is portable enough to move around the house.

We will highlight the key features of the Yoga Tab 11 in this review, including its integrated kickstand and Google Entertainment Space hub. The tablet is a great choice for older children and a decent device for people who primarily intend to watch content on a tablet.

In terms of dimensions and weight, the Yoga Tab 11 measures 10.1 x 6.7 x 0.32 to 0.33 inches. You can easily transport it around your home as it is both small and lightweight. If you place the tablet on a flat surface such as a desk or counter, then it works best.

An attractive Storm Grey fabric is used to cover the backside of the tablet. The fabric is not only breathable, but it’s also sweat- and heat-resistant. Almost all parts of the tablet are enclosed in a polycarbonate frame. This frame is etched with the stylish Yoga logo.

Its cylindrical battery is one of the tablet’s most distinctive features. In addition, its bulging battery makes it an excellent handle, similar to the Yoga Tab 13’s bulging battery.  Because it is lightweight, it is easy to hold for long periods of time. A kickstand is built into the Yoga Tab 11 just like it has on its 13-inch counterpart. In addition to the kickstand, the tablet can be mounted on a wall or doorknob with the hanger.

Though the cylindrical battery is a unique design and serves as a useful handhold, a case for the tablet can be difficult to find because of the unique design. The smallest size is 14 inches, but Lenovo sells a protective sleeve. It may not do much to protect your phone against accidental drops. Yoga Tab 11 is ostensibly made for use by families, so it can be risky to use it without a protective case.

Display And Audio

With a 11-inch multi-touch display and a resolution of 2K, the Yoga Tab 11 offers a 15:9 aspect ratio and a refresh rate of 60 Hz. Playing games and watching videos can be done on the device’s screen. While some may find the large bezels annoying, we didn’t mind them. The screen on the Lenovo Precision Pen 2 works well and is responsive to touches. However, if you’d like to use a stylus instead, the Lenovo Precision Pen 2 is available as an optional accessory.

As for the brightness, Lenovo says the device can reach 400 nits. Its average brightness is lower than advertised at 368.3 nits, according to our own testing. Yoga Tab 11 leaves a lot to be desired in the brightness department when compared to the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 and the iPad 2021.

Outside, direct sunlight obscures whatever is shown on the screen and causes it to become dim. Indoors, the display is bright and vibrant, but it fails to impress outdoors. Most content can be displayed at 60Hz. Though the display cannot match the 120Hz refresh rate found on higher-end tablets.

The Tab 11 has a good speaker quality, though not as good as the Yoga Tablet 13. The use of JBL speakers with Dolby Atmos on these tablets we thought was interesting. Its sound quality is flawless, from soft whispers to booming explosions. While the tablet’s 13-inch sibling has a better sound, this tablet’s sound is lacking.

One USB-C port is present on the right side of the Yoga Tab 11. The Micro SD card slot is also located above the volume and power buttons. In comparison to the larger Tab 13, this tablet does not have a headphone jack. Even though the left side of the tablet is otherwise empty, this means that you’ll have to use Bluetooth headphones if you want to listen in private.

Performance And Software

The Yoga Tab 11, powered by octa-core MediaTek Helio G90T processor, has 4GB of RAM. As compared to the more powerful Yoga Tab 13, you won’t be able to multitask as much, but if you’re mostly watching videos or browsing the web, you won’t see noticeable performance drops.

It wouldn’t be fair to compare the Yoga Tab 11 with tablets that cost twice as much or more, while the Tab 11 is marketed as a $250 family tablet. It is important to note, however, that this slate is considerably less powerful than the Yoga Tab 13.

The Yoga Tab 11 comes preinstalled with a stock version of Android 11. It is competent, but lacks practical features and is not particularly noteworthy.

Camera And Battery Life

The Yoga Tab 11 has a front-facing and back-facing camera both of which are 8MP. Having adequate lighting is necessary for a decent front-facing camera to work properly during conference calls. There is also a selfie camera available if you want to take one.

If you want to take a picture with the rear-facing camera, it works well enough, but I’ve never seen the point of rear-facing cameras on tablets since any tablet, no matter how small, is awkward to take pictures with.

A large integrated 7500mAh battery is said to have a battery life of 15 hours. During our battery test, which put the tablet through endless Wi-Fi surfing with the screen set to 150 nits of brightness, we found that the tablet lasted for 11 hours 55 minutes and 59 seconds.

Lenovo Yoga Tab 11 currently costs $251. There is an Octa-core MediaTek Helio G90T processor inside, as well as 4 GB of memory and 128 GB of storage. It runs Android 11. The tablet is supplied with a cable and charger for the USB-C port. There is a Lenovo Precision Pen 2 bundle that you can buy for $292.

 The Verdict

It is true that the Yoga Tab 13 is a better tablet due to its larger screen, better battery life, and better performance, but we also can’t ignore the Yoga Tab 11. An entertaining slate aimed at children and casual users, it fulfils its primary function well.

This tablet offers similar features at a lower price, but its built-in kickstand and cylindrical battery make it stand out from the crowd. Even though it has a unique design, it is impossible to protect it. This is a good Android tablet that will be perfect for use at home.
