Google Pixel 6 Pro Review: Google’s Top-Of-The-Line Smartphone

It’s the most significant phone that Google has released in years. With its updated hardware and user experience, it can clearly justify its “Pro” label. New features on the new phone include an all-new Tensor chip created by Google, a huge OLED display, an all-new camera set up with an array of advanced features, and Android 12 – the platform’s latest operating system release.

This platform offers a number of exciting opportunities, including on-device speech recognition and translation, computational photography, and other cool features. Despite its large 5,000 mAh battery, the Pixel 6 Pro falls well short when it comes to battery life in our testing. You owe it to yourself to get the Pixel 6 Pro if you like a large display and want one of the best phones you can buy. The Pixel 6 Pro deserves to be considered right up there with the best Apple and Samsung have to offer, as you’ll see in this full review.

  • Amazing cameras
  • The Tensor system performs well
  • The new design is beautiful
  • Compared to other flagships, it is more affordable

  • Batteries last shorter than competitors
  • limiting in-display fingerprint readers

At first glance, the Pixel 6 Pro’s biggest selling point is its fresh, new design. Pixel 6 Pro features a curved display, glass back, and camera bar across the width of the device. In the sea of glass and metal slabs, it is refreshing to see Google come up with something unique and innovative. However, the Pixel 6 Pro seems a bit strange compared to its predecessor, to put it mildly.

The Pixel 6 Pro has a very good build quality and feels good in the hand. Despite being solid, it doesn’t feel too heavy. While the Pixel 6 Pro’s display is still too big for one-handed use, I find the phone more comfortable to hold than Apple’s latest large phone. In my opinion, the fingerprint sensor is one of the most annoying parts of the hardware. There’s a fingerprint sensor integrated into the display.

Color saturation and color accuracy of the Pixel 6 Pro’s display is in line with others, but brightness is below average. It has a dynamic 120Hz refresh rate, which means it can go down as low as 10Hz to conserve battery power while ramping up to 120Hz when necessary. Brightness is one area where I think the Pixel 6 Pro’s display falls short. While it’s not as poor as previous Pixel phones, it’s still far behind the iPhone 13 Pro Max.

This display works well for playing games like Genshin Impact and Back 4 Blood etc. Watching movies in HD is also a great experience, with enough saturation to make scenes stand out. I’ve never seen a display like this on a Pixel before. the Pixel 6 Pro is undoubtedly better.

Let’s talk about what makes a Pixel: its cameras. In terms of computational photography, Google pioneered the technology, and although other manufacturers have since caught up, Pixels consistently rank among the best camera phones. With the Pixel 6 Pro, Google takes the game to the next level.

Hardware upgrades were made by Google to complement the software upgrades and improve Tensor capabilities. According to Google, the main sensor has been upgraded to 50MP and lets in 150% more light. In addition to the 114-degree field of view of the 12MP ultrawide camera, the 48MP telephoto camera offers 4x optical zoom. With the AI-powered Super Res Zoom, the final images of the Pixel 6 Pro can be cleaned up by up to 20x digital zoom. The Magic Eraser is a highlight of the new AI features powered by Tensor chips.

Tensor, Google Silicon’s first-generation chip, drives the Pixel 6 Pro’s excellent camera. In computational photography, you can see how it was built for AI and machine learning. Furthermore, it also lends itself to AI-powered features such as Live Transcription and Live Translate. Of course, Tensor did better than the Galaxy S21 Ultra in the Adobe Premiere Rush test – where phones transcode a 4K video to 1080p. The hardware on this device is more similar to the Qualcomm X55 modem that we saw in the Galaxy S20 and iPhone 12.

 Software And Special Features

Android 12 is available on the Pixel 6 Pro. Though you’ll get all of Android 12’s features on the Pixel 3/3 XL and higher, it’s on the Pixel 6 Pro that Android 12 comes to life, especially with Material You and their new theming system. With its new design language and customization system, the Pixel 6 Pro shines with Android 12.

A few Pixel 6 pro-specific features were highlighted by Google during its keynote.

  • In addition to the security and privacy features of the Pixel 6 Pro, the company touts its new Titan M2 security chip as well as Tensor and its security core components.
  • Pixel 6 Pro adds a lot to Google Assistant’s intelligence and capabilities. You can enter emojis and speak commands such as Clear, Stop, and Send using your voice.
  • The Live Translate feature allows you to simply point the camera at a sign in a foreign language to see it translated.
  • With its 5,000 mAh battery, the Pixel 6 Pro packs the biggest battery we’ve ever seen in a Pixel. Finally, the Pixel 6 Pro has a faster-charging speed than previous Pixels.

The Pixel 6 Pro costs less than competing flagship devices.

The Pixel 6 Pro 128GB starts at $899 and comes with great hardware and Google’s outstanding software.

The Verdict

For Android enthusiasts, the Pixel 6 Pro is certainly a good option thanks to its incredible camera array and Tensor technology. With its powerful processor and wonderful camera, it is an ideal phone for any task. Best of all, it is reasonably priced. In addition to the curved display and great cameras, everything I’ve come to love about the Pixel has improved – Call Screen alone is enough to make me recommend it.
